Just a number…worst experience of my life.
I was in a not at fault accident and sustained pretty serious TBI. I have been in a battle with them for years. Their agents had my doctors receptionist in tears more than once. They would change adjusters so that they could have more time with my file to not approve things. Send me over 5 hours away for their doctors to look me over and complete assessments even though I had 5-8 doctors locally advising how serious my Injuries were. Do yourself a favor and do NOT go with this company and if you do make sure you have a good lawyer.
Apparently you have to pay for a home that you didn’t even own because “you pay a month in advance.” Thanks you scr_wed me over for my car insurance. I had enough before I got triple charged. Don’t go with company unless you want to basically get reamed for every cent you have
Chieftain/ Travelers Brutal
My wife was run off the highway by a hit and run transport truck. Thank God she received only minor injuries. The car was deemed a write-off 2 year old car with 38k on it. Adjuster put the wrong mileage down on his report. Replacement value for the car was 26k. We were shown Toronto comparables with over 100k on them worth 17k. Did not get fair settlement. Communication was snail mail and they took every one of the 10 days to respond. Horrible service.
Horrible customer service
I have currently went through a vehicle theft and I am very disappointed in my service. First off I wait days for any updates and I actually had the info they gave me already from doing the work myself by contacting the agencies involved and then forwarding it to my adjuster. Then after extending my rental for 3 days they said I had to return it even though it would be weeks before my van would be ready. They left myself, wife and 2 kids with no vehicle to get to work and daycare. We had to get a vehicle off family because the engine had gone in our other vehicle. This entire experience has left a sour taste when it come to Travelers Insurance and how they care about their customers or should I say don’t. They just tow the corporate line and will not bend to help out a family of 4. This experience has caused nothing but mental health problems. Once my renewal comes up I will be taking all my business elsewhere.
Having been an insured homeowner for over 20 years we experienced our first claim this year. An unexpected washing machine failure led to water damage to our home…..we were nervous to file a claim and anticipated a lengthy battle with Traveller’s however our experience was just the opposite. Out adjuster Dana was helpful, compassionate and professional. The process was as easy as could be and we were compensated fully. ( even for things that I wouldn’t have thought of ) Obviously this is never a pleasant situation to be in but I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this company for your insurance needs.
Breach of privacy
Breach of Privacy by Travelers and Servicemaster . Travelers sent Servicemaster to my house to look at a possible mold issue. The adjuster from Travelers wrote a letter to me and suggested I forward the information to my condo board with findings and suggested remediation. The condo board saw on the letter that was addressed to me that the adjuster said if I wanted any more I formation to contact them. The condo board contacted my insurance and requested my complete file from the insurance adjuster. They did not have my claim number or my policy number nor did I sign a consent form for this information to be shared. Without this information why was my information shared? The condo board said they received my complete file from the adjuster and from the Servicemaster rep. At no time did I give my condo board, Servicemaster or Travelers consent to share my information. I spoke with the Travelers ombudsman and Privacy officer and I was told it was my fault because the letter addressed to me had a sentence that stated I could contact him for more information. This is a breach of my privacy and has now caused my condo board to recuse themselves of any obligation regarding a water issue/mold caused by the the boards neglect. All because the service Master report and the adjusters letter were interpreted from two different perspectives. If you can’t trust an insurance company with your privacy, what else can they not be trusted with. Read the many reviews and you will see this company is not customer friendly and does not take responsibility for their bad behaviour. I would not recommend this company to anyone. They don’t respect your privacy. I also wanted to see how easy it was to get information about a customer so I called in looking for information about my file as if I was a stranger. The person I spoke with asked if I had a policy number, I said no she asked me what the address was and who was on the policy. I told her and that was all it took to get my information. Is this a company that can be trusted? I think not!

Travellers really do not care whether you are a good driver or bad driver. Every year your premium goes up $40 or up. It is a reckless company. When you call for a reason why you premium goes they tell you to cover expenses ….
Also, when you claim nothing still you gonna pay more. I had a minor incident 32 moths ago with no claim at all. Sine then they increased my premium every year $40 dollar/month for 2 year straight that make $85/month more than 32 month ago, and I will see what gonna be for the coming year. I would expect the same action because it is reckless company.

I recently received my homeowners renewal and didn’t give it another thought until my neighbour told me he shops around every couple of years. I found out he is paying half of what I do for basically the same coverage.
I figured that with all the discounts Travelers was giving me ( age 55+, no claims ever, dual policy discount, loyalty discount, mortgage free and non-smoker discount and VALUED customer discount) that I was doing pretty well. NOT.
I called my broker and she was able to get me the same coverage at about half the premium. Shame on me for assuming that i really was a valued customer.
Worst Insurance Company
This company is so slow in responding to any concerns they are very unorganized and send you your paperwork months later. They increase rates by double every year even if you have no accidents.
Not recommended for car insurance.
After getting back to this insurance from parking insurance due to this pandemic, it has been significantly increased without my understanding. Their process time is ridiculously long to cancel (more than 1 month to cancel and still have to pay /a high cancellation fee) or to change conditions. Insurance companies have rules on their sides, but I still do not get what they are doing.
Not at fault accident = No protection
Had a not at fault accident last week.
The adjuster very unskilled at guiding me through the process and the offer for the total loss of my car absolutely ridiculous. I feel as if I was at fault.
I was lucky not to have major injuries. I don’t really understand what is the role of insurance companies other than to make money out of accidents.
I will not recommend this company. The stuff is rude , not answering call and emails , lying .Company not trying to help you if you have an accident.

Don’t waste your money
I had a small water claim. Adjuster didn’t bothered to return emails. Told them to close claim as I am not willing to wait for additional few weeks to fix tiles in washroom and told them to send me letter indicating why client has closed claim. Idiots never used proper wording that adjuster didn’t bother to return emails and client don’t want to deal with B*.
They send generic letter. Told them that if they don’t listen then I will offer dil.. to ceo and other management team .They never provide letter with proper wording and I offered it to ceo and management team. It was their fault that adjuster didn’t respond for weeks. I am leaving claim over $5000 still these people want me to pay for initial cost of restoration company. I am also filing BBB complaint and going to post emails on their FB page.
Horrible customer service from their broker All Time Insurance Inc
I am with this broker since two years, after 1st year the ownership changed and new broker agent never replied to my emails and queries. When I call the agent she always pretend to be busy and says she will get back to me but I have to keep sending her multiple emails and phone calls to get a reply, she is rude, provide terrible customer service and have no knowledge of the auto and home insurance policy aspects. I am waiting for my renewal date so I can switch to another company even if I have to pay higher premium.
Do not insure with Travelers
Our rates in both home and auto keep going up and up and up, with no claims, no accidents, no tickets, nothing. They just do. Now every year it was a few percent points, but significantly more than inflation. Our house as an example went from 850.00 per year in 2015 to 1,300.00 in 2020. The cars, hard to compare as we have changed cars in the period, but the most telling example is that form 2019 to 2020, my rate magically jumped 65%, absolutely insane, inexplicable and infuriating. Needless to say we have already left Travelers for TD, which, surprisingly, quoted us the exact same rate we had before….
premium raise in COVID-19
I have been with the company for over 3 years now , it was fine, but suddenly started raising premium every three months, the most shocking is the latest increase, at a time where everyone is trying to survive in toughest economical situation amidst covid-19 and all institutions and govt, giving all possible relief, my dear chieftain has raised my insurance premium again from next month onwards, what a great strategy and what a time. its sad and there is no one taking notice of this, when you call them they have no answer except ” ITS COMPANY POLICY”
so fine , we have to learn through this as a customer , that’s all we can do.

I was insured for about over 9 years with this company, on till my wife got into a accident the car was right off . They did not want to pay market value that was one thing
Then someone side swipe my truck the door could not open but yet they wanted me to drive the vehicle like that when I was cover for a rental
The adjuster was very rude do not answer call and take weeks to call you back.
After all this I had a clean driver’s record with one minor traffic violation but yet within the last two years my premium jumped about three thousands dollars but when I question them they told me that I am paying for I’ll the bad drivers out there .
Finally I shop around and saved my self over three thousand dollars. Don’t ever trust this company
Worst insurance company I have dealt with
I had my van rear-ended and it was deemed a write-off..the claims process to get a replacement cost was painful…the agent never called me back to discuss my questions…I emailed a few times …no reply…I had to call him directly…never picked up or returned my call even after leaving my contact. The claim period took way too long as I have had co-workers who agreed with me. When it was time to talk to the claims adjuster to which they had assigned a new person and di not inform me…. when it came to the cost..she agreed to hear my side …but after giving my point of view …she did not budge from their price…even though I asked if they could increase it by even a dollar…I of course asked for a few hundred more but not a single penny more…Not sure why she wanted to hear my side…as she waster my time and crushed my hopes of getting a reasonable price…I felt she was just patronizing me …I remain polite throughout the conversation but I knew from that minute that I did not want to deal with this company. Uncaring and unreasonable. Ripped me off.

My previous insurance ended and I had to find a new coverage and my former broker referred me to this company and had I know before that I had to pay 2 months deposit plus my first payment and then at the end of the month another payment that’s is 4 payments in one month that crazy. Plus way to much just to start. Once I found all that out I tried to tell my broker that I couldn’t afford all that up front she was not very understanding and didn’t help me find a solution and just flat told me there was nothing they could do so I decided to cancel that insurance and find a better insurance company but there should of been a grace period if ur not happy with the service you can cancel with no charge but guess not.
Even then requested two separate Bill’s to protect myself to have proof for my records cause their invoices are not clear enough and dont state what ur paying for.
But been trying to communicate via email but they won’t address my concerns
So by far this is worst company, so be careful you dont get sc***ed over like I’m sure so many have stand up for your rights.

My review is ZERO star…… Travellers insurance are a rip off. They lie and only out to steal your money and when you get injured and it’s time to pay they will sc**w you over. I wish I never use this company and I can’t wait change. Bunch of crooks.
If you are in need a insurance and doing your research. Just read all the reviews and you will see how many people were and are still being ripped off. They will say one thing and do something else. Even if you’re not at fault your insurance will blow up A LOT. They will change payment dates without any notice so your payment bounce then they charge you late fees and all sort of fees to make more money from you.
Their customer service is non-existence! Good luck finding someone to help you.
Quiet possibly the worst insurance company
If 0 stars was possible that would be my choice. My mother was involved in an accident where she was completely not at fault she was rear ended while waiting to make a left turn and was sent into oncoming traffic which if you have seen the pictures she’s lucky to be alive. The accident turned her life upside down could not fully return to work, to this day cannot drive from the ptsd, and has to use a cane to walk. To this day they have failed to approve or pay for any of her treatments claiming it was a “minor injury”, and to this day we are fighting with this trash excuse of an insurance company
Recently, my car was backed into and the door was damaged and window broken. In this case, insurance should cover the cost to replace the door and window, but instead, they keep insisting that they have to repair every little defect with the car, such as the heat which doesn’t work and was a known issue with the car. The total of the work required to the car is $1800, whereas if they do what they are supposed to and only replace the door and window and hinges, it would cost $500~. Due to them trying to replace every minor defect on the car and make it factory condition, it is too expensive and therefore they want to scrap the car. Due to our financial situation, welfare is going to take the majority of the money, leaving us with $200, and we will be without a car. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

When i started my insurance they took a double payment, and my payments were supposed to be set for specific days which this company then changed the day right after i had the first payment, when i called to keep the payment day the same they tried to again charge me first and last for the next month…. which had already been paid when the policy started. when they fixed it again finally and switched it back to my regualr payment onto the end. Now 2 months away from the policy end they charge me my current policy price with an added $194 for next term that doesnt start for 2 months….. i am beyond pissed with this company charging me for a policy that hasnt even started yet, not even giving me a chance to find a new insurance company because they also raised my insurance about $22 for having no tickets, or claims for the year.
Awful company ever I have to deal with the rude people I didn’t receive any support at all. I decided to cancell and paid from my own pocket.
Quick to take your money, slow to settle for claim
What a headache this company is. I had to deal with Keisha Allen, the so called “Claim Professional” assigned to my claim. At first I had to fight with them to admit I was 0% at fault in a collision, which was obvious. I had to escalate the manner to the GIO and then to their manager. I am still dealing as of now to get my car to the bodyshop, this whole process as been ongoing for a month now and I am still waiting with a damaged vehicle. Keisha Allen doesn’t follow up in a timely manner, terrible customer service. To get an answer from these guys, you either have to harass or call their manager. I can’t wait to get all of this sorted out.
Recently I switched to Travelers because I got a call from a guy named Tyler Amodeo who works at SurexDirect which is a broker company stating that he can get me a good quote for auto insurance for two cars I own and he lied saying that but that is only possible if I buy tenant insurance as well. While buying the insurance plan I asked him that I’m planning to sell one of my cars in the middle of the one year insurance term so will the discount still continue and he said yes. Now I got rid one of the vehicles and they just removed $20 from my monthly bill cycle and when I tried cancelling the insurance he told me about the cancelation fee which he never mentioned about it until I decide to cancel what a ripoff!!!!

Terrible insurance company
Their fees keep going up. Get in an accident and they say a big f*** you. They dont get back in a timely manner, especially if you turn down their offer. They dont take into consideration that you need to buy a new vehicle. Turn down a claim? They no longer give you a rental, then it is a month plus for them to get back to you.
I have never had a ticket, never had an accident but my insurance was higher than a 19 year old who had 2 tickets.
I will never suggest this company. I will leave as many bad reviews on as many sites as possible to try and save as many people from the potential hardships they will face have personal questions- wanting more information?? Email me.
I had small accident in last December they said my car is Not Driveable Then I bought a new car then they said they can fix my car totally unprofessional know the increase my payment before they did $191 now they did $250 Too much not happy with them
I live in Florida. A Canada driver insured by Travelers Insurance of Canada backed into my car. Well, let me just say that it has been 6 weeks since the claim and I still HAVE NOT received any money. I met with their adjuster and got an estimate. Now all I get is, “we mailed the check”. Then, “oh the check was returned for wrong address”. Then, oh we need to convert the funds from Canada to US.
I have now filled a complaint with the Florida Department of Financial Services. I told Travelers Customer service what I was going to do, and they said, “you do what you need to do”.

Absolute worst insurance company I've ever dealt with
I had my car stolen by a so called friend and reported it to my local Police as stolen, and I then filed a claim with travelers. Everything was going good as it should until my car was recovered by Police in another city 3hrs away.
My broker explained to me that my policy would cover all the costs to get it out and brought home. Such as to have it towed back here to a garage, and have the garage look at it & fix any mechanical damage, as well as have it detailed. But NO… This is where Keisha basically told me “I was sh*t out of luck, and had to foot the costs myself, because it is not considered stolen as I had given permission to a friend to borrow it”. It didnt matter that there was a police report stating it was stolen, because it’s was still not considered theft to them. I then asked how they were going to cover the additional week of impound fees I now have to pay because of it taking a week to get an adjuster to even call me, after leaving multiple messages. I was told that it wasn’t there problem, and that point blank I wouldn’t be receiving any help from them.
Not worth the paper it is written on
7 months to settle a new home warranty claim that everybody including travellers says needs to be resolved but they won’t settle. Week after week we just get told “I’ll have it for you in a couple more days”. Warning! Don’t buy a new home insures by travelers if you expect any help if things go wrong. Buyer be ware!

It took almost 2 months of living with no home, staying at a friends place to get this company to admit they were responsible for covering me.
The representatives ignored calls for WEEKS at a time. One person was on vacation for 3 weeks and didn’t respond for another 2.
They play the phone game and transfer you to people who are not even working that day and never call back.

I decided not to renew my policy and it cost me $$$$ with them.
$135 in return fees from my bank.
I was suppose to be reimbursed $224.79 this company decided to take ANOTHER $50 and submitted $174.79.Like come on man, REALLY?????
